Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee (D&I) works closely with the university administration to identify and address areas of relevant concern impacting any and all aspects of life at UVA. We encourage active participation with university and public partners to promote equitable policy reform, an empathetic tolerant collegial workplace, and universal respect for all forms of difference displayed by our UVA community.

Throughout the course of the year, members offer feedback to university administrators upon proposed policy initiatives or reforms, noting potential issues and concerns. In addition, through a series of informational sessions our meetings invite us to engage directly with various leaders at UVA and the larger Charlottesville area. Members are thereby given the opportunity to participate in more specific ad hoc interventions. These fluctuate annually based upon need and circumstance.
